Meet the PNBC Lab Team
Dr. Tammy Stephenson PhD, FAND, RD, LD
Dr. Stephenson is the Chair of the Department of Dietetics and Human Nutrition as well as the Co-Director of the Certificate in Nutrition for Human Performance. She is also a professor and registered dietitian.
Dr. Makenzie Barr PhD, RD, LD
Dr. Barr is an assistant professor and registered dietitian. She is a community researcher focused on weight management and lifestyle behavior change. A portion of her research works with bariatric surgery patients to improve health outcomes in post-operative life.
Dr. Kyle Flack PhD, RD
Dr. Flack is an assistant professor and registered dietitian. His research interests center on exercise for weight loss/ weight loss maintenance, the physiology driving eating behaviors, and performance nutrition. Dr. Flack aims to improve obesity treatment through interventions targeted at novel processes contributing to weight loss resistance and overconsumption.
Dr. Liz Combs EdD, MS, RD, LD
Dr. Combs is the Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Dietetics and Human Nutrition as well as the Co-Director of the Certificate in Nutrition for Human Performance. She is also a lecturer and registered dietitian.
Undergraduate Student Employee: Lauren
Lauren is Junior in the DHN department seeking her Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics. She hopes to one day become a registered dietitian. About the lab, Lauren has said, "I chose to work for the PNBC lab to gain experience in a nutrition related field and to get more involved within the DHN department."
Undergraduate Student Employee: Emily
Emily is a junior seeking her Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics in the DHN department. She hopes to one day help others by becoming a registered dietitian. Emily has said, "I chose to work for the lab because I felt it would be a unique opportunity to help others better understand their bodies."
Undergraduate Student Employee: Lucy
Lucy is a Junior majoring in Dietetics. When asked about working for the PNBC Lab she said, "After learning about the BodPod and RMR in my DHN classes, I immediately knew I wanted to work in the lab. I feel fortunate to be a university that has this type of facility. I am excited to be part of something that provides people with so much helpful knowledge and information about their well-being."
